Dominican Republic VS Indonesia

The Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic will once more have a chance to get ahead of other teams in the FIFA ranking scale, if it does well in the Caribbean Cup, which will give them the experience and points they need. The national teams that are currently ahead of the D.R like Guyana and Guatemala will compete with Concacaf giants like USA, Mexico and Panama for a chance to qualify for the world cup which can be a way for them to loose points in the Ranking. This will benefit the D.R, because these teams will be unable to compete in the Caribbean cup as well. Of course there are teams that were eliminated like Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti which pose a threat.

Concacaf Olympic competition qualifiers

Now it’s up to the feminine Dominican Football team to proudly represent the Dominican Republic at the Concacaf Olympic competition qualifiers, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada this coming January 2012. It will not be easy because they will have to face teams like Mexico, USA, Guatemala and others where Football is a better known sport. Good luck nevertheless.

The Venezuelan national team faces a visiting Costa Rican team ,which can be said to be the favorites to win the friendly match at the Metropolitan stadium in the Barquisimeto state. !Why not the D.R!

The Dominican Football Federation should promote the Dominican Republic as the host of any Football competition no matter which one it is in order to keep the flame of Football alive in the Dominican Republic, which has seen a growth of interest in the Sport in the past few years but especially in 2011. The only competition of importance in the country in recent years, were the Pan American games of 2003 which have little relation to Football or Soccer events.

What now?

What do the Fedofutbol leaders plan for the Digicel Caribbean cup? because nothing has been announced for next year with the exception of the Liga Mayor, which is currently running and will finalize in the first quarter of 2012. If Dominican Football is ever going to get off the ground, then the leaders of the Soccer federation better start making concrete plans for next year.

Spanish Football

Barcelona lost against Getafe on Saturday, to now find itself 6 points behind Real Madrid whom beat its neighbor Atletico Madrid to consolidate its reign over the Spanish league, but not all is lost due to the fact that there is plenty of time for Barca to catch up. Barca will have an opportunity to get the much needed points, when it plays against Rayo Vallecano on the 29th.

Sad News

Sad news for Dominican Soccer followers, the D.R just went down to the 129th position from the 128th instead of reaching new heights. This mishap was largely due to the 1-1 tie with the Cayman Islands. Not much can be done to remedy this situation, due to the fact that the D.R can only play friendly matches until the Caribbean or Digicel cup.

11/20/11

Much work to do

The Tricolor has a lot of work to do, due to the fact that it was decided to finally begin the Liga Mayor for what is left of the year and also the players need to get ready for the Digicel Caribbean cup, which will be held during the months of June and July of 2012 for which the followers ask the Dominican Football Federation to get the players ready, by arranging friendly matches for them. Now is the time, they have to keep moving forward.

A liga mayor without Moca F.C?

A liga mayor without Moca F.C nor any major team from the north of the Dominican Republic can't be called a Liga Mayor, thats just a few teams kicking around the ball.

11/17/11

Bright side of things

This year has been amazing for Dominican Football because even though they had players willing to give it all they never had the oportunity to better their game due to a lack of interest on the part of the Dominican folk whom prefer to watch Volleyball or Boxing than a Football game they reached a level of dominance of the game not seen since about 1996.

11/14/11

Growth of Dominican Football

Its been around fifteen years since the last time that the Football of the Dominican Republic was ranked 116 in the FIFA world ranking, and Dominican followers of Football at the island as well as abroad are enthusiastic about the accomplishments of La tricolor, which may reach its highest ranking position since 1996. Good luck against Cayman Islands.
