The day has arrived when Mexico will prove whether the
metamorphosis it went through, was what it needed in order to put its bad
performance of the last year in the past. Missing are the Mexican players that
play in European teams due to their low performance and the Mexican coach “El
piojo” Herrera will rely instead on his former America FC players. New Zealand
which is missing its captain and star player for this game at the Azteca stadium
will no doubt give it it’s all in order to beat Mexico at their own turf. The
match will be held at Mexico City’s Azteca stadium at 3:30 PM EST.

!Mexico Revives!
Mexico beat a modest Finnish team 4-2 for Herrera’s first
official win with the Mexican team, and therefore demonstrated that the team is
recovering some of their former luster. The rebuilt Mexican team seems to have what it
needs to beat a weak New Zealand team and gain the needed ticket for the world cup. The New Zealand team which lost to the national team from the UAE 2-0, and
barely tied with Trinidad and Tobago 0-0 recently seems to have their work cut out for them against the Mexicans in their next game on November the 13th.

Third Place Stolen From The Dominican U20 Team
It was suddenly announced that the third place qualification
was taken from the Dominican Republic, and given to the Cayman Islands home
country of the president of Concacaf, which created a wave of anger and
disbelief in the Caribbean Football community and not only in the Dominican
Republic which was directly affected by the arbitrary decision. The Dominican Republic
passed to the U20 women’s quarterfinals for the Caribbean Football Union, by defeating Cuba 2-1, and
by way of a better goal difference since Cuba was defeated 5-1 by Jamaica
giving the Dominican Republic the third place of the group. The Dominican
Republic’s Football Federation known as Fedofutbol will be filing an official
complaint in regards to the sudden decision.

Mexico VS New Zealand
Mexico’s problems are not over yet, since they must defeat
New Zealand on the 13th and the 20th of November, in
order to make it to the world cup. The statistics are not comforting at all for
the quickly stitched together Mexican team, that went through a top to bottom restructuring
face in the past few weeks since according to the FIFA.com page the two teams
are pretty equal in strength as past matches can show. The New Zealand team may have the upper edge
since they are a close nit team that has faced decent teams recently and seems
to be a good match if not an obstacle to a limping Mexican team.
Mexican Embarrassment
Mexico will have an opportunity to face New Zealand for the
chance to go to the world cup and redeem themselves, but not due to their
accomplishments. Team USA AKA “The Stars
and Stripes Team” beat Panama 3-2 yesterday and due to this deed, Mexico can
still hold on to the hope of avoiding more embarrassment than it has already
been subjected to, by beating New Zealand and making it to Brazil 2014. On
other notes Jamaica fought Honduras for an honorable tie 2-2 at the Kingston
national stadium in Jamaica in a hard fought game. Jamaica has not been
defeated by Honduras at their national stadium, and they sure proved that they
wanted that statistic to remain unchanged. It sure was a game where both teams
fought and suffered to the bitter end, but accepted the end results which were
all that Honduras needed to a direct pass to their third world cup.
