Sad News

Sad news for Dominican Soccer followers, the D.R just went down to the 129th position from the 128th instead of reaching new heights. This mishap was largely due to the 1-1 tie with the Cayman Islands. Not much can be done to remedy this situation, due to the fact that the D.R can only play friendly matches until the Caribbean or Digicel cup.

Much work to do

The Tricolor has a lot of work to do, due to the fact that it was decided to finally begin the Liga Mayor for what is left of the year and also the players need to get ready for the Digicel Caribbean cup, which will be held during the months of June and July of 2012 for which the followers ask the Dominican Football Federation to get the players ready, by arranging friendly matches for them. Now is the time, they have to keep moving forward.

A liga mayor without Moca F.C?

A liga mayor without Moca F.C nor any major team from the north of the Dominican Republic can't be called a Liga Mayor, thats just a few teams kicking around the ball.

Bright side of things

This year has been amazing for Dominican Football because even though they had players willing to give it all they never had the oportunity to better their game due to a lack of interest on the part of the Dominican folk whom prefer to watch Volleyball or Boxing than a Football game they reached a level of dominance of the game not seen since about 1996.

Growth of Dominican Football

Its been around fifteen years since the last time that the Football of the Dominican Republic was ranked 116 in the FIFA world ranking, and Dominican followers of Football at the island as well as abroad are enthusiastic about the accomplishments of La tricolor, which may reach its highest ranking position since 1996. Good luck against Cayman Islands.
