Santo Domingo Excited about Football Game



There is a lot on excitement in Santo Domingo today the likes of which has never been seen before, as it has been for about two weeks due to the Football match against Costa Rica. Free tickets have been given to hundreds of football loving kids, from poor neighborhoods in the capital city on behalf of various companies and organizations. The Quisqueya stadium which has seen quite a few Football games, as when the national team played there  for the 1968 Mexico Olympic games qualifiers , in 1973 against Cerro Porteño of Uruguay, and also between Puerto Rican teams Roosevelt and Quintana and Dominican clubs. Quisqueya stadium is a baseball stadium home to the last baseball Caribbean series, and was conditioned in order to meet FIFA standards for the friendly game. The last time the Dominican national team played an international game in the capital city of Santo Domingo, was in 2004 against Trinidad and Tobago in the now deteriorated national stadium. The match will start at 8:00 PM Santo Domingo time, which during the summer is the same as US Eastern Standard Time or EST.
